Tanzanite is a relatively new gemstone discovered only in 1967 but hightly popular and a great alternative to blue sapphire. The gemstone was given the name ‘Tanzanite’ after Tanzania, the country in which it was discovered and the only mine so far. As for Opal, did you know that it has been found in Mars in 2015 ! It is one of only a handful of gemstones that have ever been discovered outside of our planet (the other gemstone being Peridot that’s found from outer space) It’s nice to know something about your jewellery!
